How to fix 0x80072EE2

  1. On Windows 10 1803 or later, run dsregcmd /status on the affected device and read the Diagnostic Data section (it appears only on a domain-joined device that hasn't completed hybrid join).
  2. Check whether the code appears in the DRS Discovery Test (discover) or under Previous Registration with Error Phase: join.
  3. Test connectivity to https://enterpriseregistration.windows.net from the system context, not only as the user.
  4. Allow the Microsoft Entra hybrid join endpoints through the firewall and proxy. If a proxy is required, make sure the computer account can discover it and authenticate silently.
  5. Retry the join, then check dsregcmd /status again.
