What's in Kit 1

Works alongside CMTrace Open; it doesn't replace it.

CMTrace Open's ESP diagnostics shows you which app is blocking a stuck device, and it's free. Kit 1 doesn't redo that. It works on the parts CMTrace Open doesn't cover:

• Tenant pre-flight check. Before deployment, it reads your ESP and Device Prep policies and flags required apps that tend to break provisioning (LOB and Win32 mixed together, user-context installs, dependency chains), the Device Prep 25-app and 10-script limits, a missing or ownerless Intune Provisioning Client service principal, the wrong device group type, a missing RBAC permission, and App Control / Managed Installer conflicts. Read-only. You get an HTML report.
• On-device diagnosis. For both Autopilot v1 and Device Preparation. Runs from Shift+F10. It reads the Device Prep footprint that older scripts miss.
• Known-causes database. It matches what it finds against a versioned list of known causes, each tied to a KB or Windows build and a source, and gives you a verdict instead of a pile of logs.
• Quarterly updates for a year. Device Prep changed four times in 2026, and the database keeps up.

FAQ

Does it change anything in my tenant?

No. Both scripts only read. The tenant pre-check sends read-only Microsoft Graph requests, and the device diagnostic reads logs and settings and writes nothing except its own report. Steps that change a tenant or device are in the guide, marked, with rollback steps where they apply, and you decide whether to do them.

What permissions does it need?

Read-only Microsoft Graph permissions. The full list is in the free beta scripts' README on GitHub.

What if the date slips?

We'll email you before December 1 with the new date, and you can take a full refund or wait.

What if it doesn't help?

Full refund any time before delivery, and for 14 days after delivery. No reason needed: email [email protected] with the subject "Refund". See the refund policy.

When does it come out?

Kit 1 files are delivered by Tuesday, December 1, 2026, sooner if ready. Presale buyers get an email when the download is live, and the link on your thank-you page starts working at the same time.

What happens after I pre-order?

Stripe emails your receipt. The thank-you page says your files are being prepared. Bookmark it: the same page will give you the download once the files are ready. We'll also email you on delivery day.

Can I use it on client tenants?

Yes. Either license covers any tenant you support. Just don't hand out the files.

Can I expense it?

You'll get a Stripe receipt with the product name and license type.

What will my card statement say?
